CSC & Bangladesh Minister of Industries Discuss Economic Relations

Chairperson of the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) Dr. Abdulrahman Al Zamil met, along with CSC officials, with Bangladesh Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu where the two sides discussed areas of economic cooperation between the two countries.

The Bangladeshi Minister noted the strong bonds joining the two countries, and the Kingdom’s role in supporting Bangladesh. He encouraged Saudi investors to explore opportunities in his country, which has a stable investment climate and offers facilitations and incentives to foreign investors, adding that Bangladesh laid the foundation stone for 10 economic zones for trade and exportation to expand its international relations and accelerate its national economic development process.

Mr. Amu explained that Bangladesh’s exports are estimated at $25bn annually, emphasizing that his country hopes to attract more Saudi investments, particularly in the readymade garments sector, in which Bangladesh ranks second globally, as well as its leathers, textiles, shipbuilding, and halal industries, among other sectors.
For his part, the CSC Chairperson conveyed Saudi investors’ interest in entering Bangladeshi markets, stressing at the same time that products that enter Saudi markets must abide by international quality standards. Al Zamil mentioned opportunities in the Kingdom’s regions, especially in industrial cities, assuring the Kingdom’s appreciation of the effective contribution of Bangladesh’s laborers in its national economic development.
