CSC Secretary General & Tirana Mayor Discuss Bilateral Relations

Secretary General of the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) Eng. Khalid Al Otaiby met with the Mayor of Tirana, Albania Erion Veliaj – and his accompanying delegation – to discuss areas of economic cooperation between the two countries.
Al Otaiby noted the distinguished relations joining Saudi Arabia and Albania, assuring the need to maintain and enhance these relations by increasing delegation exchanges, finding mechanisms to activate relations between the private sectors, signing MoUs, and exchanging information on business opportunities.
The CSC Secretary General briefed his guests on the strengths and strategy of Saudi economy, which aims at strengthening partnerships with friendly countries, including Albania. He highlighted the attractive investment environment in the Kingdom and large enterprises underway, explaining that there are Saudi products of high quality that can be exported to Albania.
For his part, the Albanian Mayor commended the Saudi-Albanian relations, emphasizing his country’s interest in enhancing bilateral relations with the Kingdom. He encouraged Saudi investors to explore the opportunities and incentives Albania offers to foreign investors. He agreed on the need for more business delegation exchanges, adding there should also be more workshops and seminars that highlight business opportunities, especially in sectors such as tourism, energy, agriculture, manufacturing, healthcare and real estate.
Veliaj stressed the stability of Albania and its government’s keenness on attracting foreign capitals, especially from Saudi Arabia. Moreover, he noted the distinguished geographic location of Albania, and its beaches and resorts, which make it an attractive touristic spot, hoping that his country will be among the future business plans of the Kingdom. The Albanian Mayor stated that Saudi tourists are welcome into the country during the summer without visa.
