Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu was a guest at the Conferences Palace in Riyadh where he met with Saudi businesspersons to discuss mechanisms to enhance trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. The Prime Minister noted the Kingdom’s position as a key trade partner to Turkey, as well as the cultural ties joining the two countries.
Davutoğlu encouraged Saudi investors to explore opportunities in the Turkish market and create strategic alliances with their Turkish counterpart, especially in light of the stability of the country and facilitations it offers to Saudi investors. He highlighted Turkey’s achievements over the last few years, which attracted foreign investors to its market, and its plan to increase GDF up to US$2 trillion by 2023.

At a time when the Kingdom looks to diversify its economic base, Turkey offers investment opportunities in fields including energy, transportation, agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism, among others.

For his part, Chairperson of the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) Dr. Abdulrahman Al Zamil assured the need for both the Saudi and Turkish business sectors to create sustainable strategic partnerships to increase bilateral trade, pointing to the role of the Saudi-Turkish Business Council in this regard.

Saudi businesspersons presented their views to the Turkish Prime Minister concerning improving trade and investment relations in multiple sectors, in addition to briefing him on their experiences and recommendations as to how to elevate the two countries’ bilateral relations.
