CSC Secretary General and Djibouti Ambassador Discuss Economic Relations

Secretary General of the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) Dr. Saud Al Meshari received in his office the Ambassador of Djibouti to Saudi Arabia, Dia Al Deen Bamakhrama, where the two sides discussed ways to enhance trade cooperation between the two friendly countries.
Dr. Al Meshari noted the firm relations joining Saudi Arabia and Djibouti, adding that CSC is keen on enhancing relations with the Horn of Africa due to the vast investment opportunities in region, particularly in Djibouti due to its strategic geographic location, and the proximity of its ports to the ports of the Kingdom, noting the support of both countries’ governments to their economic sectors.
For his part, the Djibouti Ambassador commended the noticeable development in the two countries’ political relations, which he said should also be reflected on their bilateral economic relations as well. He noted that Djibouti is a significant gateway to market and promote Saudi exports in African markets due to African countries’ membership in IGAD and COMESA, as well as the several investment opportunities they offer. The Ambassador encouraged Saudi businesspeople to explore these opportunities.
The meeting touched on preparations for the upcoming visit of a Saudi delegation to Djibouti, as well as the joint economic forum which aims at highlighting opportunities in the ports sector. The two sides additionally discussed the idea of creating a joint business council.
