CSC and Kazakhstan Ambassador Discuss Economic Cooperation

Chairperson of the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) Eng. Ahmed Al Rajhi received in his office His Excellency the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia, Bakheet Bateer Shayev, where the two discussed ways to foster trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting, which was attended by CSC Vice Chairperson Dr. Sami Al Obaidy and Secretary General Dr. Saud Al Meshari, touched on the robust Saudi-Kazakhstani relations and the importance to foster them, especially on the economic and investment fronts. Al Rajhi expressed CSC’s readiness to assist in any capacity in this regard, adding that the Saudi business community is keen on exploring investment opportunities in Kazakhstan, emphasizing that both the Saudi and Kazakhstani business communities are required to play an effective role in this regard.

For his part, Mr. Shayev conveyed Kazakhstan’s interest in fostering bilateral relations with the Kingdom, noting the facilitations it offers to foreign investors within an attractive business environment. He also noted his country’s interest in participating in the investment opportunities that accompany the Saudi Vision 2030.

The Ambassador shed light on Kazakhstan’s Vision for the year 2050, which aims at making the country among the advanced 30 countries in the world, and entails economic reforms in the process. He additionally highlighted investment opportunities in the mining, agriculture, and petrochemicals sectors.

The meeting discussed the possibility to organize a joint business forum in the Kazakhstani capital, Astana, and restructure the Saudi-Kazakhstani Business Council. In addition to organizing Saudi business delegations to explore the investment opportunities in Kazakhstan, particularly in financial services, agriculture, and mining.
