CSC Organizes Workshop on Addressing Delayed Payments to Private Sector

The Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) organized a workshop titled “Identifying quick solutions for delayed payments to the private sector and mechanisms to avoid their occurrence”. The workshop was attended by CSC Chairperson Eng. Ahmed Al Rajhi, Secretary General Dr. Saud Al Meshari, and selected representatives of various economic sectors in the Kingdom.
Eng. Al Rajhi started his address by commending King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the issued Decree in this regard, noting that it reflects the keenness of the Saudi leadership to address challenges facing the private sector as soon as possible, and ensure such delays never occur again seeing that the private sector is a key partner in the economic development process.
Al Rajhi encouraged businesspeople to study the decree and work closely to ensure realizing the development process in accordance with the Kingdom’s endeavors. Participants in the workshop praised the Royal Decree, noting that it acknowledges the private sector’s role as a main partner to the government in its economic endeavors, adding that the Decree will contribute to the advancement of national economy and enhancing the trust of local and international investors in the investment environment in the Kingdom and its government projects.
The workshop focused on developing mechanisms to identify all delayed payments to the private sector, and study outstanding dues and propose suitable solutions to expedite their clearance. In addition to developing mechanisms that ensure such incidences never occur again. The workshop concluded with forming a taskforce that represents five sectors: contractors, healthcare, education, consultations, and manufacturers and suppliers, with the aim of finding the convenient solution in this regard.
