Saudi Investors and Head of Baghdad Provincial Council Discuss Investment Opportunities

The Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) hosted a meeting between the Head of Baghdad Provincial Council, Dr. Riyadh Al Adhadh and Saudi investors to discuss economic relations between the two countries.
Al Adhadh expressed during the meeting, which was attended by CSC Chairperson Eng. Ahmed Al Rajhi and Secretary General Dr. Saud Al Meshari, Iraq’s interest in fostering economic relations with Saudi Arabia, and attracting Saudi investments to Iraq in general, and Baghdad in particular, adding that the government offers incentives and laws that protect foreign investors, namely, the amended 2006 investment law. He went on to highlight the various opportunities in Baghdad, encouraging Saudi investors to utilize these opportunities as part of the process of fostering trade relations between the two countries.
Moreover, Al Adhadh touched on the Iraqi government plans to elevate the public and private sectors, including developing a roadmap with specific goals; adding that the government is willing to assist Saudi businesspeople and introducing them to the investment opportunities in the country. Al Adhadh took the opportunity to praise the recent developments in Saudi Arabia, and Riyadh in particular, in all walks of life.
For his part, Eng. Al Rajhi commended the Saudi and Iraqi leaderships for their mutual interest in fostering bilateral relations, and encouraged the business communities in both countries to take advantage of this support by exploring their respective markets and creating trade and investment partnerships so as to elevate these relations into a fully integrated economic partnership.
During the meeting, the Head of Baghdad Provincial Council listened to Saudi investors’ concerns and suggestions regarding trade and investment flow between the two countries, promising to take their inputs into consideration and address them with concerned bodies in Iraq.
