2/22/2018

Officials of the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) praised the Council of Ministers decision to set up an agency, overseen by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, to handle the employment of Saudi nationals in the private sector as part of the national efforts to enhance economy.

CSC Chairperson Eng. Ahmed Al Rajhi described the decision as a reflection of the Saudi leadership’s interest in providing citizens with good opportunities and living standards, and ensuring public-private partnership in this regard. Al Rajhi stated: “The Saudization of jobs is part of the Saudi Vision 2030, and by launching the employment agency and making it responsible for training and qualifying nationals for the private sector, this will benefit the general interest of the country and accelerate its economic growth.”

Al Rajhi assured that the private sector acknowledges the significance of Saudi nationals to the economic and social development process, noting that private sector institutions, as well as CSC and Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry take initiatives that support the nationalization of jobs.

CSC Vice Chairperson Dr. Sami Al Obaidy stated that he looks forward to increasing numbers of Saudi nationals in the private sector following the Ministerial decision, noting that a program that provides professional guidelines, training, and incentives for nationals to join the private sector will accompany it. He added that as a strategic partner to the government in realizing the economic plan, the Saudi business community is ready to cooperate with the employment agency.

On the same note, CSC Vice Chairperson Muneer bin Saad said the Ministerial decision will help reduce the gap in the Saudi labor market, and secure more opportunities for men and women in the private sector, which is important to realizing the economic endeavors of the government.

CSC Secretary General Dr. Saud Al Meshari described the decision to set up the employment agency as a key step towards nationalizing jobs across various sectors, adding that the business community will work in tandem with the government towards achieving a prosperous, labor-intensive economy.
