CSC Partakes in AFED 2018

2/27/2018

The Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) is participating in the Armed Forces Exhibition for Diversity of Requirements and Capabilities 2018 (AFED), currently taking place in its 4th session at Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center.

Organized by the Ministry of Defense, with participation of major national companies, government agencies, and private sector institutions, the exhibition aims at enhancing local industrial content and localizing supplementary materials in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.

CSC’s participation comes as part of its efforts to foster the private sector’s involvement in the economic development process and enhance strategic public-private partnerships in the Kingdom. CSC has long been supportive of local content through its government procurement taskforce, whose role is to monitor compliance with the royal decree to grant priority to national products in government procurements. CSC culminated its efforts by launching the initiative to increase local industrial content, which aims at increasing national investments in the industrial private sector.

CSC displays, through its suite No.484 at the exhibition, its role in serving the Saudi business community in this regard, and the various services it offers locally and internationally. In addition to shedding light on its initiative to increase local industrial content, whose goals entail increasing local content to 70% come 2030.CSC seeks to realize these goals by cooperating with the Local Content and Private Sector Development Unit of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs (CEDA).

It is worth noting that the National Industrial Committee at CSC plays a significant role as CSC’s executive arm in the development of the national industrial sector, realizing the initiative to increase local industrial content, developing mechanisms to foster growth in the sector, and finding a unified reference point to industrialists in the sector.

CSC presents an opportunity for Saudi companies to register in special lists to get access to relevant investment opportunities offered by the government sector in various areas.

CSC encouraged all concerned bodies and people to visit the exhibition and stop by its suite for more information on local content and investment opportunities, estimated at 80.000 opportunities.
The exhibition concludes March 3.
