CSC Delegation Heads to Sarajevo Business Forum
24/04/2018
A delegation representing the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) is set to participate in the Sarajevo Business Forum, held in the Bosnia and Herzegovina capital on April 25-26. The Forum is under the auspices of the presidency and is co-organized by the Islamic Development Bank. Leading international figures from the field are expected to show up.
The Sarajevo Business Forum is a key event in South-Eastern Europe. It presents a great opportunity for Saudi businesspeople to explore the various investment opportunities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
CSC is expected to sign an agreement during the Forum with the Sarajevo Chamber of Commerce to create the Saudi-Sarajevo Business Council, with the aim of facilitating communication between the Saudi and Bosnian business communities.
The Sarajevo Business Forum will focus in its current session on investment opportunities in tourism and infrastructure facilities considering Bosnia and Herzegovina’s reputation as one of the fastest growing touristic destination in the world.
It is worth noting that CSC is keen on fostering economic relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina. In May of last year, CSC organized the Saudi-Bosnian Business Forum in Sarajevo, which attracted an array of businesspeople from the two countries. Moreover, a CSC delegation of over 50 businesspeople partook in the eighth Sarajevo Business Forum 2017.
Both Saudi Arabia and Bosnia and Herzegovina possess natural resources and comparative advantages that enable them to expand the scope of their cooperation. The developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s investment environment make it a viable destination for Saudi investors. Likewise, the openness in the Saudi market makes it attractive to Bosnian investors.
Other opportunities in the Bosnian market include the energy, industry, and foodstuffs sectors. The country exports 70% of its products to EU countries, which include auto parts, furniture, and military equipment, among other products.
