26/04/2018
The Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) hosted on Tuesday, April 24, a meeting with a US civil nuclear trade commission – consisting of leading firms in the field – in which the two sides discussed investment opportunities in nuclear energy for purposes.
The meeting touched on the robust Saudi-US economic and political relations, and the recent visit of HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the United States of America, whose impact was visible on the two countries’ relations, resulting in cooperation agreements in various fields.
The US trade mission’s visit comes as part of the two countries’ efforts to foster cooperation in nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, as well as exploring the opportunities that accompany the Saudi Vision 2030, whose objectives include diversifying energy sources by entering into partnerships with leading companies in the field, such as the USA.
The US trade mission expressed their interest in collaborating with their Saudi counterpart in this regard, and were briefed on the National Atomic Energy Project (SNAEP) by King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, and the Tayseer program by Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority, which highlights reforms in the investment environment in the Kingdom.
Firms on the two sides had bilateral meetings to discuss further opportunities related to civil nuclear projects.
It is worth noting that the US trade mission included firms representing various fields, such as electrical power systems, environmental technologies, industrial equipment, science and technology, scientific and laboratory tools, and control processes, among others.
