CSC and Costa Rica Ambassador to UAE Discuss Economic Cooperation

Secretary General of the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) Dr. Saud Al Meshari received in his office H.E. the Ambassador of Costa Rica to UAE, Francisco Chacon, where the two discussed the state of economic relations between the two countries.
Dr. Al Meshari noted the growing relations between the two countries, especially on the economic front, adding that the two sides must find innovative initiatives to elevate these relations into a trade and investment partnership considering their respective economic capabilities and resources, as well as the Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to foster such endeavors.
For his part, Mr. Chacon conveyed Costa Rica’s keenness on creating robust trade relations with the Kingdom, namely, in renewable energy, tourism, manufacturing and exporting fruits and foodstuffs, and development projects, which are all areas of interest to the Costa Rican government.
The Costa Rican Ambassador noted the significant economic shift in his country since 2010, which resulted in exports increasing by over 7%, adding that Costa Rican economy no longer rely on agriculture only, but is also thriving in tourism, electronics, medical industries, and information technology services.
The meeting broadly discussed means to foster Saudi-Costa Rican economic and trade relations and the investment opportunities offered by their respective markets that support realizing this step.
