Women’s Coordination Council Overview:
The Women’s Coordination Council was formed according to a Ministerial resolution in 1425H (2004). The resolution stipulates that the Council of Saudi Chambers shall create a women’s committee consisting of qualified members to coordinate with concerned bodies to encourage the private sector to create job opportunities for Saudi women – without creating gaps to attract foreign labor in the process – and training them accordingly. In addition to providing the financial support to create these opportunities. Government agencies are to contribute to realizing this plan within their respective competence.
Mission:
- Increasing Saudi women’s contribution to national economy, and creating new opportunities for them in the labor market.
- Enhancing the skills of Saudi women and revitalizing their role in the national economic development process; and removing obstacles that hinder their participation in various sectors.
- Fostering and maintaining relations with official bodies responsible for the employment of women in the private sector.
- Enhancing the capacities of Saudi women in knowledge-based and economic areas by supporting their enrollment in specialized programs created by concerned bodies.
- Developing effective mechanisms to identify and address challenges facing the employment of Saudi women in the labor market.
